The answer to yellow teeth is often: teeth whitening. However, since this is purely a cosmetic procedure, it is not covered by health insurance. How you can whiten your teeth even on a small budget will be revealed as you continue reading.
What is cheaper: dentist or home bleaching?
For several years, it has been possible to order teeth whitening kits for home use. The regulations, which govern the active ingredient concentration and apply to the entire EU, are relatively strict. Therefore, the products for self-application are considered safe.
Beforehand, the teeth are brushed, then the teeth whitening gel is applied to the dental tray and inserted into the mouth. After the LED lamp is turned on, it takes about 30 minutes until you can rinse your mouth again and the application is complete.
At the dentist, the process is similar, but the products used differ. If you would like a detailed explanation, please request a dental consultation regarding the procedure. Not every dentist offers bleaching, and the methods can also vary.
For bleaching at the dentist, you pay around 300 euros, for a teeth bleaching kit for home about 120 euros. However, the contents of the gel tube are usually sufficient for several treatments (up to 10 with OnlySmile).
Home teeth whitening is cheaper. However, if you don't feel confident in carrying it out despite its simplicity or have other concerns, we can definitely recommend the treatment at the dentist.
By the way: OnlySmile includes a full-size teeth whitening gel in all sets – even in the beginner set. With one tube of gel, you can whiten your teeth up to 10 times. Check out our Online shop for affordable teeth whitening around and discover great deals!
