Die Macht unserer Zähne

The power of our teeth

White teeth are important for everyone, but why is that? White teeth radiate intelligence and hygiene and are also associated with popularity. However, very few of us are born with naturally white teeth, which is why we seek help, for example with our OnlySmile products.

Our smile says a lot about us to strangers, and white teeth immediately convey a positive impression. Yellow discolorations can indicate a lack of hygiene, high coffee consumption, or smoking.

Reasons for yellow teeth

Lack Oral hygiene can also be a cause, such as insufficient tooth brushing. Deposited food residues that can turn into a yellowish coating on the teeth. If this is not carefully brushed away, it hardens over time and makes removal more difficult. Even artificial or dead teeth will eventually turn yellow.

But not everyone lacks continuous hygiene, so why are the teeth still yellow?

The teeth are naturally yellower in some people than in others. The reason for this is the outer protective layer of our tooth. This is white, but the layer hidden underneath is yellowish.

If the outer layer is not supplied with enough minerals, it appears transparent and the yellowish layer shows through, making the teeth look yellow.
