Cosmetic teeth whitening comes with costs that the buyer must bear 100 percent. To save money, one can buy a set for the whole household. But is that really hygienic? Below, we will clarify all the special features of a shared teeth bleaching set.
Be a savy saver and share the costs for teeth whitening
When purchasing teeth whitening products, you can easily save money. Grab your sister, roommate, or best friend and pool your resources. Then you can buy a set together – so to speak, 1 for all – and use it alternately. The mouthpiece is easy to clean and can therefore be hygienically used by multiple users. This way, you save money together!
If this is too much for you, you can also buy a joint set and order additional mouth trays individually. Then everyone has their own tray and shares the remaining accessories (LED lamp, teeth whitening gel) with the others.
The proper care of a shared mouthguard
Honestly: a shared teeth whitening tray – isn't that gross? With proper care, shared use is not a problem! In 3 steps, you can easily prepare the tray for the next user:
- Step 1: After application, remove product residues from the rail. You can use a cloth or clean the mouthpiece under running water.
- Step 2: Clean with a (unused) toothbrush and a small dab of regular toothpaste over the material. After about a minute, rinse off the foam.
- Schritt 3: Let the mouthguard dry well. After cleaning, it is best to let the mouthguard dry open overnight. If moisture remains, germs can multiply more easily – this should be avoided.
If you have followed these steps, the splint is ready for the next use. By the way, you should avoid special cleaning tablets (like those for dentures). They can attack and damage the material.
